Fauna Acoustic

A technology that turns any microphone into a respiratory assessment instrument.

It listens to a dog's breathing, removes the room noise, finds each sound event, and compares it against what is expected for that breed, age, and breathing rate.

How It Works

From raw sound to structured readout.

1

Record

Hold any phone near your dog and press record. Eight seconds of audio captures breathing, ambient noise, and room character.

2

Filter

The technology separates the dog's breathing from air conditioner hum, traffic, and conversation. Only the signal that matters remains.

3

Measure

Each breath, cough, snore, and wheeze is identified, timed, and measured. The instrument checks pitch, harshness, and rhythm against thousands of reference recordings.

4

Compare

Today's recording is compared to what is normal for this breed and age — and to the dog's own baseline from previous recordings on the same device.

5

Output

A structured readout: respiratory rate, event types, harshness percentile, drift from baseline, and a clinical observation for your veterinarian. Not a diagnosis. Data for your vet.

Where It Goes

The phone is the starting point. The platform is the destination.

Phone App (V1)

Per-usage analysis for pet parents and veterinarians. No hardware. No subscription. Just a phone and a dog.

Telemedicine API

Remote respiratory assessment for veterinary platforms. Audio in, structured data out. Integrates into any app.

Smart Collars

Continuous monitoring via licensed technology. The same acoustic analysis, now autonomous and always on.

Veterinary Instruments

Embedded in purpose-built stethoscopes and calibrated microphones. The professional tool for the clinic.

What It Is Not

It does not diagnose. It does not replace a veterinarian. When the signal is too noisy or ambiguous, it says so. An instrument that admits "I do not know" is more trustworthy than one that guesses.

Every output ends with: For veterinary evaluation.
